Like you say above, that's not the best test of whether a game is improved by using an expansion. But it does tend to rule one's decisions.Tylerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12816071659319450675noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9319479.post-43015999258049429482010-11-25T12:52:55.348+02:002010-11-25T12:52:55.348+02:00I don't play Age of Steam expansions, I collec...I don't play Age of Steam expansions, I collect them =) I've got lots of them, but honestly - I could live with lot less. But that's something I've allowed myself to collect, and it makes me happy. It's the perfect mixture of trying new stuff and playing an old favourite.

The San Juan expansion in the Alea Treasure Chest is very good, and I wouldn't play the game without the new buildings anymore. It doesn't add much overhead, either, the game isn't much more complex. If you think Puerto Rico can use new buildings, well, so does San Juan.

I don't really count the Blue Moon stuff expansions, but as a large game that's for some reason sold in smaller bits. I don't think the base game is enough for anybody who seriously plays the game, but I don't think you need each and every pack either.Mikkohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17417932766922859887noreply@blogger.com
