Session Report, in which we discover that we like Mu after all

The latest Jerusalem Strategy Gaming Club session report is up. Games played: San Juan, R-Eco, Taj Mahal, Magic: the Gathering x 4, Mu.

We discover that we like Mu after all, and even still like San Juan. I lose badly in Magic, yet again.

Earlier this week, Rachel beat me by some 35 points in a Scrabble game; she had one Bingo to my none.

Did you play only 14 lands in the W/G deck? a 40 card deck needs closer to 17 lands on average. Even if you have mana creatures you need the lands to cast them and the creatures can be killed leaving you mana screwed anyway. Barring very very very rare circumstances playing less than 16 land is very risky. Next time try playing 18 lands and 22 spells. Also try mulliganing more often. I'm willing to bet you will have more interesting games and much less mana screw.

I typically play with 16 to 17 land. But this was a strictly 2 color deck with only two cards costing 5 and the rest costing 4 or less. I didn't have any problems with the amount of mana, only with the color.
