September Board and Card Game Patents

Customer information card game - A business card game called Face Value that purports to teach the value of customer information and loyalty. Looks complicated and dull, but that may just be the patent language.

Black History board game - A design patent. The game appears to cover the slave trade.

Method and system for playing a poker game enabling bonus bets - A method for side betting in a poker game.

Method of playing a bonus - Making the side bet of a poker hand more interesting.

Two player gameboard apparatus - A medieval chess-like board game played on a hexagonal board of triangle spaces. I believe it is by the As Majesty Game Society, whatever that is.

Bunco gaming device, method and bonus game - A method of betting for the dice game Bunco.

Method for playing a blackjack game - Probably a new low for a waste of the public's time, this patent seeks to patent .... player v player Blackjack. See for yourself:
The primary object of the present invention is to provide a method for playing blackjack wherein each player competes against other players, rather than against a dealer.

Another object of the present invention is to provide a method for playing blackjack wherein the suit of the cards is of relevance to the game. [Yehuda: embodied as the player with a card closest to a black jack wins ties.]

A further object of the present invention is to provide a method for playing blackjack wherein a pot may or may not be limited. [Yehuda: meaning precisely nothing.]

An even further object of the present invention is to provide a method for playing blackjack wherein a jackpot may or may not be utilized. [Yehuda: meaning precisely nothing.]

Another object of the present invention is to provide a method for playing blackjack wherein the number of cards in a hand is of relevance to the game. [Yehuda: embodied as the player with the most cards wins ties.]

A further object of the present invention is to provide a method for playing blackjack that is simple to play. [Yehuda: meaning precisely nothing.]

An even further object of the present invention is to provide a method for playing blackjack that is fun to play. [Yehuda: meaning precisely nothing.]

Another object of the present invention is to provide a method for playing blackjack that is challenging. [Yehuda: meaning precisely nothing.]

A further object of the present invention is to provide a method for playing blackjack that involves strategy. [Yehuda: meaning precisely nothing.]

The present invention fulfills the above and other objects by providing a method for playing a blackjack game wherein a player must have a blackjack or a hand value that is closer to 21 than that of any other player of the game, without going over 21, in order to win. Thus, the players are competing against one another, rather than the dealer. If two or more players have the same total, the player with the most number of cards in his hand wins the pot. If the total value and number of the cards are the same, the hand with the highest ranking black card, which is the card closest to the black jack, wins the pot.
Can't wait to see this one get challenged in court.

Games and methods of playing games with collectable [sic] game components - The return of Clout Fantasy, this is a patent from Hidden City Games. It covers a collectible game where pieces are thrown onto a surface. Curious, as I thought Clout was already patented.

Word travels - A scrambled letter game of some sort.
Words or beginning of words are formed by rearranging the endmost letters of the sequences, wherein the words or beginning of words are formed by the endmost letters of each sequence such that the last letter of the sequence is the last letter of the word or the last letter of the beginning of the word, and wherein the endmost letter of a sequence may be moved onto the endmost letter of another sequence if a word or the beginning of a word is formed on the other sequence, or more than one of the endmost letters may be moved onto the endmost letter of another sequence if the endmost letters are the beginning of a word or if a word or the beginning of a word is formed on the other sequence.
I want to play already.

Word-forming game - A tile game by Upper Deck, makers of numerous popular TCG games. This game appears to be one where the first player puts down part of a word, and the second player has to guess the word or challenge it. By the way, Upper Deck is hiring.

Chess board - A design patent for a 16 x 16 game board. The 4 middle squares are colored differently, and there are 2 x 8 rectangles off the edge of each side, apparently for starting positions of some sort.

System and method for combining interactive game with infomercial - An advergame where the gameplay includes doing research on the product. Another game I'm eager to play.

Sensing light - HP is trying to patent the mechanism that senses items placed on a surface, as would be used in those electronic game tables we've heard so much about. Good luck with that.

Ace to king solitaire - A gambling game that looks really boring:
The dealer checks the value of the top card and the bottom card of the deck. If the top card is not an ACE and if the bottom card is not a KING, the dealer commences the game by calling out card value names in the following sequence ACE, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, JACK, QUEEN, KING while turning face up a card from the top of the deck after each card value name is called. If a currently upturned card matches the currently called out card value name, all players lose their bet. If all 52 cards are turned over without a single matching card value name being called out, then all players with their bet.
Six-card poker game - Get six cards, discard one.

Light-reflecting board game - The laser light strategy board game Khet.

Stored-value card with game - A store's gift card that has a little ball in maze puzzle on the flip side. Not really a game, but kinda neat.
